The Avian Canary is the gold standard for carbon integrated handlebars on a budget. T1100 carbon, titanium bolts, under 280 grams. Expensive but genuinely excellent engineering.

RYET 3D Printed Carbon Saddle

The best budget carbon saddle I have tested. The 3D-printed lattice gives genuine compliance that a solid shell cannot match. My current daily rider after 800+ km with no issues.

Seaboard CX03 Steel Frame

Triple-butted chromoly steel gravel frame with thru-axles and modern geometry for under 400 euros. Ride quality is excellent. Bottom bracket needs facing before build — full review on the blog.

Superlight 8g Carbon Bottle Cage

Eight grams. That is not a typo. Holds bottles securely on road and light gravel. If you care about weight, this is the cage to buy. I have used it for a full season with zero drops.

West Biking Plastic Cage

Cheap, light, functional. The plastic will not win beauty contests but it has never dropped a bottle in hundreds of kilometres. At this price buy three and forget about it.

HUALONG Carbon Bottle Cage

Solid carbon cage at a fair price. Holds bottles firmly and looks clean on any build. Nothing fancy but reliable — which is all you need from a bottle cage.

Riderace Aluminium Cage

Simple aluminium cage that works. On my training bike for over a year with zero issues. At this price there is no reason to spend more on a cage for everyday use.

Siroko SRX Ultra Warm Thermal Vest

Thermal vest that punches well above its price. Windproof front panel, breathable back. Extends the riding season by a month in each direction. Highly recommended.

MIXED Full Carbon 5D Saddle

Mixed results — the shape caused a persistent hotspot on my right side after 90 minutes. Saddle fit is personal so your experience may differ. Build quality is solid for the price but I cannot recommend it without trying first.

MTB / Road Carbon Saddle

The cheapest carbon saddle I tested and it shows. The shell has a slight asymmetry visible when looking straight down. Fine for rides under an hour but I would not recommend it for longer efforts.

San Marco Aspide Carbon Saddle

If you know the San Marco Aspide shape works for you, this is a legitimate copy at a fraction of the cost. Heavier at 159 grams but very comfortable, especially for shorter rides.

ROCKBROS Smart Rear Light

Smart rear light with brake detection. The auto-brightness and brake flash features work surprisingly well. Good battery life and USB-C charging. Solid recommendation.

Titanium Bottle Cage (Lightweight)

Titanium cage that looks premium and weighs almost nothing. Expensive for AliExpress, but worth it.

Aluminium Valve Caps

Anodised aluminium valve caps in multiple colours. Cosmetic only but well made and cheap. Better than the plastic ones that crack after a season.

Bike Computer Stem Mount

Simple stem mount for bike computers. Keeps the screen at eye level without cluttering the bars. Works with most round and aero handlebar shapes.

Compact Ride Pouch

Compact ride pouch that fits under the saddle without bouncing. Holds a tube, tyre levers, and a multi-tool with room to spare. The BOA-style mount is a nice touch.

Coospo CS500 Bike Computer

Better GPS accuracy and ANT+ connectivity than the Magene. Worth the extra cost if you train with a power meter or heart rate monitor.

Cycling Multi Tool

Covers 95 percent of roadside adjustments. Hex keys, screwdriver, Torx — all in a compact package. The quality is indistinguishable from tools costing three times as much.

ELITAONE Carbon Bicycle Saddle

Stiff, light at 116 grams, and comfortable once you dial in the tilt angle. The carbon weave is attractive and the rails are proper carbon. Minor cover scuffing after wet rides but excellent value overall.

Headset Spacers Set

Simple carbon headset spacers. Look good, weigh nothing, work perfectly. A cheap cosmetic upgrade that makes any build look cleaner.

Magene C606 Bike Computer

Budget bike computer with GPS that does everything a casual rider needs — speed, distance, basic navigation. The screen is clear in sunlight. Excellent value for the price.

N2 XOSS Cage

Budget cage with a slightly tighter grip than average. Good choice if you ride rough roads and want extra bottle retention. Functional and cheap.

RideRace Disc Rotor Alignment Tool

The single most useful bike tool I own. Makes disc brake alignment a five-minute job instead of a frustrating hour. Buy this before you buy anything else for your workshop.

Ryet 3D Printed Ultralight Saddle

The ultralight version of the RYET. Even lighter than the 3D-printed model but sacrifices some compliance. Best for weight-obsessed riders who prioritise grams saved over maximum comfort.

Titanium Headset Top Cap

Titanium top cap weighing almost nothing. Purely cosmetic but a nice touch on a build. Well machined with clean anodising.

UNO Components Stem

No-frills aluminium stem. Light, stiff, well finished. Does not pretend to be anything more than a solid stem at a good price. Ideal for budget builds.

9G Ultralight Cage

Nine grams and it genuinely holds bottles. Impressive engineering at this price. I would not use it on washboard gravel but for road riding it is perfect.

HUALONG Carbon Left Cage

Left-side specific carbon cage for frames with tight clearances. Niche product but it solves a real problem. Holds bottles securely.

Magene H303 Heart Rate Sensor

Reliable heart rate sensor at half the price of Garmin. Pairs easily with any ANT+ or Bluetooth bike computer. Battery lasts months. No complaints after extended use.

Odi Lightweight Titanium Cage

Titanium construction means it will outlast your bike. Light, durable, and corrosion-proof. The cage of choice if you want buy-it-for-life reliability.

PCycling Retro Metal Bell

A proper brass bell with a satisfying ring. Sounds much better than plastic alternatives and looks great on any bike. Required by law in many countries.

Portable Wrench Kit

Compact portable wrench kit. Not a daily carry but essential for workshop tasks. Good quality steel with clear size markings.

RideNow TPU Inner Tube

RideNow branded TPU tube. Similar performance to other TPU options — lighter and more packable than butyl. Good spare to keep in the saddle bag for emergencies.

RideRace Chain Tool

Dedicated mini chain tool that weighs almost nothing. Used it once on a remote road when my chain snapped and it paid for itself in that single moment. Worth carrying as insurance.

RideRace Mini Pump

My go-to mini pump for over a year. Built-in pressure gauge, reliable valve connection, reaches 80 psi in about 90 seconds. Has never failed me. Highly recommended.

Risk Bottle Cage Bolts

Stainless steel cage bolts at a fraction of branded options. Same thread, same function, no branding tax. Buy a set and keep spares.

ROCKBROS 1500LM Front Light

1500 lumens is serious brightness. The beam pattern is well shaped for road use and the runtime on medium mode gets through most evening rides. My primary front light.

Schwalbe G-ONE 700c x 40mm

My go-to gravel tyre. Good grip on loose surfaces, reasonable rolling resistance on tarmac, tubeless-ready out of the box. Hard to beat for mixed-terrain riding.

Shahe Digital Calipers

Digital calipers for checking brake pad wear, chain stretch, and bolt sizes. Surprisingly accurate for the price. Useful beyond cycling for general workshop tasks.

Siroko SRX M4 Volta Long Sleeve Jersey

Long-sleeve jersey for spring and autumn. The fabric is slightly warmer without being thermal. Works brilliantly as a layering piece in transitional weather.

Siroko SRX Pro Dauphiné Cycling Jersey

Siroko's race-fit jersey with excellent fabric quality and consistent sizing. The chamois gripper at the waist keeps it in place at speed. My warm-weather go-to.

TopTrek Bearing Press Kit

Budget bearing press kit for headset and bottom bracket installs. Not as refined as Park Tool but a tenth of the price. Gets the job done for home mechanics.

Toseek Carbon Seat Post

Carbon seat post at an AliExpress price. Light, no creaking, clean matte finish. Use carbon grip paste and a torque wrench — do not overtighten.

TPU Inner Tubes

TPU tubes are lighter than butyl and pack down much smaller. Carry one as a spare. More expensive than butyl but genuinely superior as emergency tubes.

UNO Components Handlebar

Basic aluminium handlebar with a comfortable shape and reasonable weight. Fine for a budget build or commuter. Upgrade to carbon only if you feel the need.

ZTTO 34mm Straight Headset

Budget straight headset with sealed bearings. Smooth operation straight out of the box. A worthwhile upgrade if the included headset on your frame is rubbish.

ZTTO Derailleur Alignment Tool

Derailleur alignment gauge. Essential if you ride gravel or have ever knocked your derailleur hanger. Saves a bike shop visit and potential drivetrain damage.

ZTTO Flat Mount to Post Mount Adapter

Flat mount to post mount adapter. Essential if your frame has flat mount but your caliper is post mount. Well machined with no alignment issues.

Bolany MTB Crankset 36T 170mm

MTB crankset for budget builds. Stiff enough, looks decent, takes standard chainrings. Fine for the price on a build where every euro counts.

BUCKLOS Road Bicycle Handlebar

Budget carbon handlebar from BUCKLOS. Less refined than the TOSEEK in finish and stiffness. Adequate for recreational riding but I would spend the extra for the TR5500.

Centerlock Ring

Centerlock ring for disc rotors. Does exactly what it should. Buy a spare so you always have one in the toolbox.

Drivetrain Cleaning Brush Set

Three-piece brush set for drivetrain cleaning. The cassette brush alone is worth the price. Use with degreaser for a spotless drivetrain in minutes.

EzMTB Brake Bleed Kit

Budget brake bleed kit compatible with Shimano and SRAM. Works well for occasional bleeds. Not workshop quality but perfect for home mechanics who bleed once or twice a year.

Handlebar End Plug (MTB)

Lock-on bar end plugs that actually stay put. Look clean, cost almost nothing. Should be standard on every bike.

Ltwoo 1x12 MTB Groupset

Budget 1x12 groupset that works but does not shift as crisply as Shimano Deore. Functional and cheap — good for builds where the groupset is not the priority.

MANA Tubeless Valve 53mm

Tubeless valves with removable cores. The 53mm length works for most modern rims. Essential for any tubeless setup. Buy a pair and keep spares.

RIDERACE Bike Portable Pump

Backup pump option. Slightly smaller than the RideRace but still reaches adequate pressure. Good if you want something truly pocket-sized.

RideRace Chain Wear Checker

Simple chain wear checker. Takes two seconds to check if your chain needs replacing. Much cheaper than replacing a worn cassette because you did not check in time.

Riderace Hex Key Set

Coloured hex key set with ball-end tips. The T-handle versions are easier to use than standard L-keys. Good range of sizes covering all common bike bolts.

Basic saddle bag at a fraction of branded prices. Holds everything I need for a ride. The strap mount is adequate for rides under four hours.

BSA bottom bracket with sealed bearings. Smooth, no creaking, easy to install. At this price there is no reason not to buy a spare.

ZTTO Disc Brake Discs 160mm

160mm disc rotors at a fraction of Shimano prices. Decent heat dissipation and consistent braking for everyday riding. I would upgrade to Shimano rotors for serious alpine descents.

ZTTO Tubeless Valve Tool

Tubeless valve tool with built-in plug kit. Has saved me from installing a spare tube on three separate occasions. Essential kit for any tubeless rider.
