Avian Canary T1100: The Ultra‑Light AliExpress Cockpit I Just Can’t Stop Chasing

The Avian Canary T1100 integrated handlebar is exactly the kind of upgrade that makes my inner weight‑weenie light up. An aero one‑piece cockpit around the 240 g mark, fully internal routing, and a full‑on race look – it’s basically the pro‑bike front end you see in WorldTour photos, just without the WorldTour budget.

On paper it really does tick all the boxes: T1100 carbon, one‑piece construction, modern compact geometry with roughly 76 mm reach and 125 mm drop, plus a pretty aggressive −10° stem angle. You can choose from several widths and stem lengths, so it’s actually possible to match your current fit pretty closely while completely cleaning up the front of the bike. And the fact that it usually comes with a computer mount and is ready for fully hidden cables just makes it even more appealing for a super tidy cockpit build.

Now for the slightly ridiculous part: I’ve already tried to buy this thing. More than once. Every time it showed as “in stock”, I hit order, started day‑dreaming about how good my bike was going to look… and then the order got cancelled because it apparently wasn’t actually available. Classic AliExpress emotional rollercoaster: one day you’re planning your new dream front end, the next you’re back to staring at your old stem and bar combo.

But I’m definitely not done chasing this handlebar. I really want to bolt it onto my own bike and see what it’s like when you stop staring at the specs and actually ride it – long endurance days, out‑of‑the‑saddle efforts, sprints, fast descents, the whole lot. As soon as I finally get a successful order and the box actually lands at my door, I’m going to put it through a proper “does this thing really hold up?” test – and of course I’ll share everything, both here on the blog and over on the nikinik YouTube channel.
